Jerry and his wife have five children and fifteen grandchildren. Jerry was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Ralston City Council in 1989. He serves on the Ralston Community Foundation and the Ralston Wiebe Foundation. He has also served as Council President for several years. Jerry retired from OPPD with 34 years of service. His hobbies include golf, sports, and babysitting. Jerry graduated from St. John the Baptist High School in Petersburg, Nebraska, received his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and obtained his Master of Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
