Help Keep Ralston Safe: Ralston Volunteer Fire Department Accepting Applications

Help Keep Ralston Safe: Ralston Volunteer Fire Department Accepting Applications

Ralston’s unique and highly successful volunteer fire department is seeking applications for new members until March 17th.

Ralston’s volunteers provide ambulance, fire suppression, and other emergency responses to the community. The Department delivers exceptional response times on par with many professional fire departments.

The Department attracts a wide range of people. Many are professional firefighters in other jurisdictions. The Department is a training ground for many who seek experience to become paid firefighters in the Metro and other Nebraska communities.  A significant number are local Ralston residents who are dedicated to the community.

Ralston’s volunteer firefighters are not paid but are eligible for a generous retirement program.  They receive training in firefighting and paramedic skills, preparing them to respond to calls as a volunteer and building valuable skills for the future.

Applying to be a volunteer firefighter is easy. Applicants need a valid driver's license and a high school diploma. The application is available Ralstonfire.com or can be picked up at our station 7629 Park Drive.
