Ralston, NE – Population 7,220. The City of Ralston is accepting resumes for the position of Police Chief; 14 full-time staff. Plans, directs and manages the operation of the Police Department. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in police science, law enforcement, criminal justice, public administration or related field, is required. Candidates must have eight (8) years of experience in law enforcement as a sworn police officer, with a minimum of three (3) years command experience at the rank of Lieutenant or higher; both of which must be with an agency of a First Class City or larger. Candidates must possess a current Nebraska law enforcement certification, or be eligible for a certificate of equivalency within 12 months of hire. Completion of the NLETC Supervision and Management Training certification, or equivalent certification from Northwestern Center for Public Safety, Southern Police Institute, or IPTM Schools may be substituted for NLETC.
